14060M

The original 14060 reference replaced the 5513 in 1990 and was eventually updated 8 years later with the 3130 Calibre movement. This prompted the addition of the ‘M’ for ‘modified’ to the reference number.
Whilst this new updated movement met all the requirements it was initially produced without any Chronometer certificate and therefore only two lines of text printed beneath the hands, later earning the nickname ‘2 Liner’. Chronometer Certification finally came in 2007 along with the extra lines of text, resulting in the ‘4 Liner’…
Many will still argue between the 2 Liner and 4 Liner and which is the one to have, both being sought after watches. The 2 Liner presents a strange anomaly, which with Rolex can only add to how collectible it will become.
