OROLOGIUM have been collecting and dealing in Vintage and Rare watches for over a decade and have worked in the Luxury Watch and Jewellery trade for over 20 years...
After officially breaking away from employed work in 2009 we began to turn what was a collecting passion into a full time business dealing in Vintage and pre-owned watches that has grown ever since and in 2018 launched our new website OROLOGIUM.com
Specializing in vintage watches from all brands such as Omega, Heuer, Rolex, Zenith, Longines and Vacheron Constantin our passion over the years has seen us focus heavily on BREITLING vintage from the 1940s - 1970s, our current collection showcases some very interesting and rare pieces.
Based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire we have a long standing presence in the town operating part of our collection out of SPACE Vintage Design Store, a concept also launched in 2009 by our good friend Steve, Space is a collective selling vintage, mid century, industrial and retro design furniture, homewares and accessories and is 'probably' the best Vintage Store in the UK.
Our Owner Director Simon has personally over 20 year's (all his working life) experience in the jewellery and high end watch trade. Having previously worked for some of the most prestigious Jewellers in the Harrogate and Leeds area along side a multitude of watch manufacturers.
Now curating our collection at Orologium, with his own vast knowledge and passion for collecting. He is an active watch enthusiast and has been known to advise the BBC for their watch related articles.
Over the past few years Simon has also turned his attention to the finer points of Whisky and with family in the Highlands of Scotland regularly visits some of his favourite distilleries to pick up a rare Dram not normally available on wider release. Some of these fine and limited edition Whiskies are available here on our website... Enjoy!
Some would say a 'modest expert' in vintage Breitling. Simon also has a keen interest in Omega Speedmasters and Zenith.
'Knowledge and expertise can only come from experience in a particular field and also taking opportunities to learn from others and the research they have done in your particular passion’
Favourite watch -
'I would find it very hard to narrow down a specific watch so here are few of my all time favourites'...
Rolex 16660 Sea-Dweller - My ‘Triple Six’ is my daily beater and probably gets the most wrist time, with matte dial, cream pumpkin patina and from my birth year of 1982 it is also the actual watch that features on the double page section for ‘Ref - 16660 Matte dial’ in the iconic Mondani Submariner book.
Breitling 1963 Transitional Navitimer - I've had 2 in my time, the first before I realised its true rarity! Thankfully the other still resides in my personal collection.
Omega Speedmaster 1997 'Albino' Limited Edition - A regular wearer for me I love the White dial Speedmasters and with this ones ever changing dial tone it never fails to capture your eye.
Zenith 1960s Sub Sea Chronograph - Rare to find though with its oversize orange hands you will know when you see one!
Vacheron Constantin 1960's Turno-graph - Fewer than 100 pieces were made of this watch that was produced to compete with Rolex's Thunderbird Turno-graph.
