POOL INTAIRDRIL

This iconic Air-King features a co-branded dial with the Pool Intairdril logo. Examples are rare as they were only produced by Rolex over a few years between the late 1970s into the early 80s.

Rolex were well known for commissioning special dials for various military forces and select commercial companies around the world. The Oil Industry in particular having their various company logos added to the dial throughout the 1970s and 1980s.

Pool Intairdril were an oil servicing company operating predominantly in Libya supplying Rigs, machinery, processing plants and labour to some of the big name oil companies.
These watches were given to employees typically as Safety Awards. With working environments being particularly dangerous, safety was paramount. The Oil Rigs striving for an accident free record with Safety Management Personnel and Rig Managers being given the Rolex Air-Kings engraved with their Names and Dates on the case back.
