Autavia
73463
An icon of motorsport racing, the Autavia (combining the worlds of ‘Automotive’ and ‘Aviation’) originally featured as dashboard clocks and in cockpits would later become the Chronograph of choice for the likes of Formula 1 driver Jo Siffert, in particular the tonneau cushion case examples of the early 1970s which often featured the Calibre 11 and 12 Chrono-matic movements.
The rarer reference 73463 contains a robust manual wind calibre 7734 Valjoux 2 register chronograph date movement and is an uncommon model to see on the market. With the Orange hands, brushed silver ‘Panda’ dial and orange accents as seen on the ‘Orange Boy’ Autavia this makes for a particularly desirable and interesting piece.
